“Show Baba Ijesha love, pity the girl.”- Rotimi Makinde

Former House of Representatives and actor, Rotimi Makinde has spoken on Baba Ijesha’s case of defilement.

Recall that 2709updates had reported that popular actor and comedian, Baba Ijesha was arrested for defiling a 14 year old girl, the 48 year old has allegedly been defiling the young girl since she was 7 years old.

In a bid to show support for Baba Ijesha, Makinde took to his official Facebook page and posted a lengthy where he talked on Baba Ijesha’s case.

In his post, Makinde said that Baba Ijesha deserved some benefit of doubt, and that the girl who was allegedly defiled by him should be pitied.

He Said;

“Baba Ijesha the popular comedian deserves some benefit of doubt untill a court of competent jurisdiction proofs him guilty of any offence. I understand that he was allege to have committed an illegal act… Or is it a crime to be a movie star! Let’s be patient, show the accused some love even as we condemn any bad act and to stop jumping to conclusions on his alleged assault on a minor…… it’s like some of is want him down before now?

“Crime is bad but crucification of any suspect on its own is also a crime…….. Of course, we can pity the alleged victim.”

After Makinde posted this on his Facebook handle, angry Nigerians stormed into his comment section and blasted him for his words of support for Baba Ijesha.

After several insults and scrutiny, Makinde later deleted the post.
