The Big Brother Show: A Case in Favour and a Case Against.

To say you have not heard about the Big Brother show, as of now, would be to lie. (Unless you’re probably living under a rock—LOL). If you’re not a “primary” viewer, primary meaning that you watch it on TV, you’re probably a secondary viewer like me who sees snippets on the news or social media.

It, literally, is a show that’s impossible to miss—and that’s exactly why I’ve put forward this article. Let’s have some deep thoughts:

Case in Favour?

From a point of view, the show has so many lessons to teach, if only you know where to find them. Directly or indirectly, it communicates that we should never judge a book by its cover, that not all that glitters is gold. It clarifies that the outward appearance is not all that matters, but what’s inside.

In its own way, it magnifies mental strength and character over beauty and vain desires. Your inability to set goals, strategize, focus, and get results is condemned and used against you. It’s using what you have to get what you want.

Damilare Osundare (Asiri) was watching the show when he realized:

“We are all housemates battling for relevance in this reality show called Life.

If you are not strong, you will be evicted.

Life is unforgiving to the weak.

You can’t afford not to have something going per time.

You must have a strategy that establishes you in your space.

You must play the game at the topmost level.

You must sustain the conversations around what you do.

You must not lose your rhythm.

You must give your voters (customers, clients, audience) a reason to support your cause.

Know when your strategy has stopped working.

Renew it. Relevance is a cycle of strategies.

Don’t use an old strategy for a new scenario.

While the road to greatness is usually synergistic, the expression of it is usually individualistic.

Have a game plan that confers distinction on you.”

A Case Against.

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.”

Unless you pointedly choose to ignore what you see and hear, it is immediately clear that the show feeds off on the central themes of debauchery and immorality. It knows that the flesh is all about pleasure and would always choose to indulge no matter the cost.

Day by day, we see youth, who are not into any commitment to each other, kiss, fondle and engage in all manner of perversions that should not be promoted on Live TV. In truth, seeing such is no different from indulging in pornography. Is it until they introduce homosexuality, bisexuality, and bestiality that we see the show for what it portrays?

Add that to the “mysteries” and “question marks” that abound and you’ll see that it’s better to be on the safe side. It is no news that the term “Big Brother” refers to a person or organisation that exercises total control over people’s lives. In other words, your actions and intentions are constantly being monitored, and used as a means to suppress your will. How long, before we see it as a mind-control system?

Unfortunately, most of us may choose to ignore these cold facts and still decide to watch the show anyways. Before you go, I urge you to choose wisely, what you feed your mind, soul, and spirit. Weigh the pros and cons, is it really worth it?
