The Worst Stereotypes of Nigerians.

Nigerians are perceived in a particular way, and people with little or no knowledge of us, tend to view us a particular way, I don’t know if I should put it as they misunderstand us, because the stereotypes are just alarming.

Let’s take a look at the worst stereotypes of Nigerians.

• Illiterate In Nature: This is not funny, it’s surprising because if you want to do the analysis, Nigeria has one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, and many great scholars have come out of Nigeria, so if this is true, how then are we illiterates.

• Nigerians Are Poor: Now there is something about generalizing, that isn’t just right. There will always be “The Rich” and “The Poor” same goes for Nigeria. You know the likes of Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Adeleke, and you still have this mindset? Well last I checked, these people are Nigerians.

• Nigerians Are Fraudsters: If this is not the most common and worst of them all. How do I say this? A lot of people have been scammed by Nigerians, but for you to stereotype all Nigerians as Fraudsters, then that’s a problem. It’s no lie that some youths take to this degrading act, but the number of youths that partake in this is quite minimal.
