UAE Increases Air Peace Allocated Flight Slot

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has increased the number of flight slots given to Air Peace. Instead of the initial one flight per week, Air Peace has been permitted seven flights per week. 

Previously, the UAE restricted the flight of Air Peace to one per week.

In response, the Nigerian federal government restricted the flights of Emirates Airline to one per week. Emirates Airline is owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Reacting to the restrictions imposed on Emirates Airline, the UAE sent a letter to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. In the letter, the UAE expressed that the restriction imposed by the Nigerian federal government was “not in line with the spirit of the agreed air services arrangements between our two nations.”

Consequently, Emirates Airline suspended all flights to Nigeria. Read all about the controversial situation here. 

However, in a new development, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has written to the Chairman of Air Peace. The content of the letter disclosed that Air Peace is now permitted seven flights in a week.

Also, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority described Nigeria and UAE as “brotherly countries.”

“Relations between our two countries go a long way back and we value these relations immensely. We surely wish to facilitate easy and safe travel for the people, between our two brotherly countries.”
