The University of Lagos has appointed a new acting vice-chancellor, Professor Theophilus Omololu Soyombo, this comes up a day after the removal of the said former vice-chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

The University’s Governing Council, on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 , released a Sack letter addressed to Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe. The news of the Vice-Chancellor removal was announced in a Meeting held by the council members in Abuja.

Although, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe fired back by issuing a statement to the public to disregard the news of his removal.

However, the university management has released another statement signed by the Registrar and secretary of the council, Oladejo Azeez, on Thursday, August 13th, 2020, which confirms the appointment of Professor Theophilus Omololu Soyombo as the new acting Vice-chancellor of the university.
