The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of candidates in some states across the country.

According to the Council, the affected students are those who were sponsored by state governments that are yet to pay up registration fees.

This news was disclosed on Monday, November 22 by the Head of Nigeria Office of WAEC, Patrick Areghan, during the announcement of the release of 2021 May/June SSCE diet.

Areghan disclosed that some state governments are owing WAEC and that the results of candidates sponsored will only be released after their debts have been paid up

However, the list of the states in Nigeria that are owing WAEC was not given.
