Wizkid, the multi-award-winning music sensation, also known as Ayodeji Balogun, has revealed his intention to step away from the music scene for a considerable period.

In a series of Instagram posts on Sunday, the ‘Essence’ singer conveyed his decision to take a break lasting four or possibly five years. Wizkid humorously mentioned the prospect of exploring football or golf during this hiatus.

In his characteristically broken English style, he wrote, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small or maybe five or I fit still go dey play ball now. Or make I start dey play golf. fifa or wrestling b*tch! All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad.”

Addressing his audience more seriously, he expressed his hope that everyone is well, both physically and mentally, urging them to take time off to enjoy moments with their loved ones.

This announcement echoes a similar move made by Wizkid in 2019 when, through his X account, he shared plans to take a break from music, tweeting, “Gone till March! Thank you.”
