Facebook Plans to Imitate Club House

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, announced on Monday, the 19th of April 2021, that the company is working on a project that imitates the spectacular application Clubhouse.

Clubhouse made a serious wave this year as it allows users in a room to communicate in real-time. Most android users have felt left out as the application is currently limited to iPhones. A real bonus to iPhones because a lot of iPhone users have basked in this privilege. Facebook is set to clone the idea and end that parade. This should be good news to Android users.

Facebook, according to its CEO, is building an audio feature that will be known as Live Audio Rooms. This additional feature is scheduled to be available to all Facebook and Messenger users by summer this year.

The audio feature that is being built by Facebook is planned to be test run in Facebook groups. This would allow users in groups to engage in real-time conversations. Facebook is known to have groups where people with similar interests meet and create an online community. If you run a Facebook group or you are a member of any group, prepare to have this experience soon.

There is more to this feature for owners of groups in Facebook, as Facebook plans on giving users the right to charge others before they can access their Live Audio Rooms. It could be through subscription or a one time off payment. This way creators can monetize the audio feature. The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg further disclosed that Facebook is also working on a product to be known as Soundbites. They are also aiming at integration with Spotify.
