The Brazil legend was full of praise for Neymar after he surpassed him as second on the list of all time goalscorers for Brazil.

Ronaldo lauded Paris Saint German star while he believes that he[Neymar] can achieve even more success.

Neymar became the second-highest goalscorer for Brazil after scoring an hat-trick in a world cup qualifier match against Peru.

With 64 goals for his country, Neymar moved past Ronaldo (62) and he is only behind Pele(77) on the list of highest goal scorers for the country.

Neymar takes a penalty against Peru and scores

Ronaldo took to his Instagram page to laud Neymar’s achievement. He wrote: “All my respect for you @neymarjr!”

“He plays a lot, gives assistance, plays, dribbles and thrashes. The sky’s the limit. Fly, kid! The 44-year-old wrote via his Instagram.

“What a beautiful story you are writing. A complete and increasingly mature player. Crack! Handling the pressure off the pitch is sometimes more challenging than the ball itself.

“Now tell me: where did we come from, where did we arrive…who is going to tell us what is impossible? Keep trusting your instincts because the talent is yours and nobody can take it from you.

“You have a lot of records to overcome and marks to leave. Proud to see a Brazilian at the top!”

Neymar has now scored three or more goals for his country on four occasions. However, the hat-trick against Peru is the first in a competitive fixture.
