Mane becomes the latest member of the squad to test positive for coronavirus.
The Reds winger tested positive for covid-19 ahead of a trip to Villa park on Sunday. The forward is in self-isolation after testing positive for the virus.
This comes as a setback for Jurgen Klopp’s men already without new signing Thiago alcantara. The midfielder tested positive for the virus on Monday and is already on the sidelines.
According to the club, Sadio Mane has displayed minor symptoms of the virus but he should be fine. However, the club revealed that they have followed all protocols and this will lead to fears of further positive tests going forward.
The winger’s absence means that Diogo Jota could be handed his first premier league start. The former Wolves man was a constant threat in the Carabao cup defeat to Arsenal on Thursday.

On Friday, 7,000 new cases of the virus have been confirmed including 66 deaths in the UK as cases begin to grow.
