With the Police stating earlier that a fake driver’s license was found in her possession when she was arrested.

A latest report released by the Police concerning the murder of Super TV boss Usifo Ataga, reveals the prime suspect, Chidinma Ojukwu booked the short let apartment where the former was murdered with a fake name and foreign number.

The report indicates that Chidinma checked into the service apartment at Adebowale Oshin street, Lekki Phase I, Lagos with the name “Jewel” and a foreign number.

According to the report also, several calls which didn’t go through, were placed to the number with which she booked the apartment after Ataga’s body was discovered.

The Police said that this new insight to the murder case was brought to them by one Mrs. Nkechi Mogbo. She happens to be the operator of the facility where Ataga was killed.

“Mogbo reported that around 3pm of June 16, 2021, she received a call from her security guard on Adebowale Oshin Street, Lekki Phase I where she has one flat being used as a short let apartment, “ the statement reads.

“She further stated that the security man informed her that one Jewel with a foreign phone number who rented the apartment invited one Usifo Ataga to the apartment yesterday (June 15) and that about 1pm of June 16 when the cleaner wanted to clean the room, he discovered that the door had been broken.”

“When she (the cleaner) peeped into the room, she discovered that the said Ataga was lying in a pool of blood. All calls put across to the said Jewel to come back to the apartment proved abortive.”

Days after Ataga’s murder, Chidinma was apprehended by the Police at her father’s residence and she confessed that she had stabbed her lover under the influence of drugs.

She also confessed that she withdraw a sum of N380,000 from the deceased’s account through his ATM card.

After her arrest, however some items were reportedly recovered from her. These items included a fake driver’s license with the name “Mary Johnson” which carried her photograph, a Nigerian Passport, a UNILAG student ID card, a UBA ATM card and an access bank statement of account slip.
