EndSARS: Wizkid blasts Reekado Banks for announcing song release amidst protests

Wizkid has labelled Reekado banks a fool for promoting his song amidst on-going protests in the country.

For some days, Nigerian youths all over the country have been protesting for an end to police brutality. The #ENDSARS protests has garnered attention from people all over the world and it seems the time has truly come to #ENDSARS and police brutality in Nigeria.

Ever since the protests started, Nigerian celebrities have come out to show their support for the movement both online and offline. Notably among them is Nigerian music sensation Wizkid who has been very vocal since the protests started.

As the #ENDSARS protests continue to go on in different parts of the country, Nigerian singer Reekado Banks chose to announce the release of his new song “Omo lomo” on which he featured Wizkid.

Machala, as he is widely called, didn’t find this funny as he blasted Reekado Banks a fool for doing so as he does not think this is the right time for the “Oluwa ni” crooner to promote the song. Check out the tweet below:

The tweet has since generated mixed reactions on micro-blogging platform, Twitter. While some have slammed Wizkid for his manner of approach, many believe that Reekado Banks was insensitive to have tried promoting their new collaboration at this time. See reactions below:
